1. Information We Collect

Account Data (Optional)

If you choose to create an account for cloud sync:

• Email address
• Display name

Recipe Data (Stored Locally by Default)

Your recipe data is stored on your device:

• Recipes you scan and save
• Meal plans and shopping lists
• Recipe books and collections
• Personal notes and modifications

Recipe Scanning

When you scan a recipe:

• Images are sent to our AI service for processing
• Images are not stored permanently on our servers
• The extracted recipe data is returned to your device

2. How We Use Your Data

Core App Functionality

• Extract recipe information from photos using AI
• Store and display your saved recipes
• Generate shopping lists from your meal plans
• Sync data across devices (if you enable cloud sync)

AI Processing

• Images are processed by Anthropic's Claude AI
• Only the recipe content is extracted
• Images are not retained after processing

Note: AI processing is used solely for recipe extraction. Your images and recipes are not used to train AI models.

3. Data Sharing

We only share data with trusted service providers when necessary:

All processors have GDPR-compliant Data Processing Agreements.

4. Data Security

We protect your data with:

• Local-first storage (your data stays on your device)
• TLS 1.3 encryption for all network transfers
• AES-256 encryption for cloud-stored data (if enabled)
• Secure authentication (email or Apple Sign-In)
• EU-based server infrastructure for cloud features

• Local data: Stored until you delete it or uninstall the app
• Cloud data: Duration of account + 30 days after deletion
• Scanned images: Deleted immediately after processing

Your recipe data is never automatically deleted - you have full control.

7. International Transfers

Your data is primarily stored locally on your device. When using AI scanning features, image data may be processed in the USA (Anthropic) under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) with GDPR safeguards. Cloud sync data is stored in EU servers.

8. Children's Privacy

FantasticFlavour is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to Policy

Material changes require 30 days email and in-app notice. Non-material changes update the "Last Updated" date. Continued use means acceptance.
